As we approach the seventh month of the global coronavirus pandemic, people continue to search for ways to stay safe from the virus and to detect if they are infected. While countries around the world have increased their testing capacity, many would prefer to have an at-home method of testing for illness if they exhibit symptoms or have been exposed. One of the options for this that is also relatively inexpensive is a pulse oximeter. Below we spoke with doctors and nurses to explain what a pulse oximeter is and how it can help detect if someone has been infected with Covid-19.
